Last night we finished packing and weighing the boxes of paper archives for Bancroft Library. There are 53 boxes in total, one of which includes one of Frank's painted letterboards and his leather pointer.
We have spent most of 2024 so far going through hundreds of file folders, page by page, and removing any duplicate pages, making copies of anything we want to keep and packing them in heavy duty bankers boxes. We created a log of the contents of every box...100+ pages. We can't really believe we have finished this part of it!
The final step is now to send the list of the weights of each box to our contact at Bancroft Library. She will then create Fedex labels for each box and mail them to us for us to affix to each box. Then we schedule a pick-up with Fedex.
There will be one more round of archives to deliver to Bancroft. We have a cabinet filled with slide and photo binders that need to be scanned (for us to have copies) and packed up. After around 2006 all of our photos were digital, so we will also be going through all of them and making selections to send to Bancroft.
It is amazing that all of this will be preserved for future researchers. One day, some adventurous researcher will discover what a deep gold mine Frank is.
The complete Frank Moore CD collection was also included…
